For AI assistants and developers
The repayment calculator as an MCP server
Ask Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant which federal repayment plan costs least and it can run your numbers with this site's calculator: RAP, IBR, Standard and Tiered Standard under the 2026 rules, PSLF timing and refinance offers, each answer with its sources. Free, read-only, no key.

Questions
Is there a cost or an API key?
No. The server is free, read-only and needs no key or sign-in. It does not keep the loan or income numbers you send it.
Is it the same as the calculator on this site?
Yes. It runs the same month-by-month math and the same rules as the calculator, so an assistant gets the numbers you would see here. The method page lists every formula and its source.
Can I rely on the numbers?
They are estimates, not advice and not a quote from your servicer. They assume steady income growth, no missed payments and no capitalization. Confirm with your servicer or the Loan Simulator on studentaid.gov before you choose a plan.
